Mary Deans Obituary
Mary Frances (Davitt) Deans 88, of Holiday City at Berkeley of Berkeley Township, NJ, passed away on March 22, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Deans was born on September 3, 1935 in New Rochelle, NY to Patrick and Bridget (Coyle) Davitt. On June 10, 1961, she married the love of her life, David A. Deans Jr. in the Bronx NY. Mary lived in Co. Mayo, Ireland as a young girl and after marrying she lived in the Bronx, NY and later moved to Vernon, NJ where she raised her family. She has lived in Berkeley Township for the last 20 years.
Mary started her career as a secretary with New York Telephone Company and finished as manager with AT&T. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Berkeley.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, David, her beloved children: Maureen (Joe), David, William (Debbie) and Sean (Sinead), her cherished grandchildren: Thomas, Shannon (Will), Billy (Juliette), Collin (Abbey), Brendan, Joshua, Jessica, Maggie, Claire, and Holden and her loving great grandchildren: Danica, Vonn, Aurora, Evelyn, and Freya. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Patrick Davitt and William McGinnelly and her sister, Philomena Sheridan. She was also predeceased by her beautiful daughter-in-law, Anita Deans who passed on January 9th of this year. They will be dearly missed, but their legacy of love and devotion to her family will continue to grow in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 3-6pm at the Timothy E. RyanHome for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Boulevard, Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ, with a burial to follow at Clove Cemetery in Wantage, NJ.
