Obituary

Obituary for Walter Kyzima

Walter Kyzima, 94 of Berkley Township passed from this life peacefully December 13, 2019. Walter was born October 23, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Russell and Anna Kyzima. He was a devoted husband, loving father and trusted friend. He served his country in the United States Army. In addition to serving his country, he also made it a point to give back to the less fortunate, as he never wanted anyone to go without. He later became an independent contractor and was a trusted employee of Dante & Sons. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Walter enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood, making sure to say hello to all he passed. He had a passion for reading about history and the wars. He loved to travel with his wife, Helen, and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with his daughter and granddaughter. He was often seen with a scratch off lottery ticket in hand.

Walter is predeceased by his parents, his wife, Helen Rode Kyzima; sisters, Mary D’Agostino and Dolores Rochow.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Karen Kyzima of Berkley; brother, William Kyzima of Berkley Heights; sister, Pauline Repke of Arizona; grandchildren, Kelly Norcross, Vincent Kyzima and Steven Kyzima; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 8:30am to 10:00am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am at St. Maximilian Kolbe, Toms River with burial to follow at William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Walter’s preferred charities such as the Salvation Army, St. Jude’s or to veteran’s services in his honor.

Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ryanfuneralhome.com

I have many fond memories of time spent with Walter and Helen and my world is less vibrant knowing that they have passed. I thank them for all that they did for my mom, and how that generosity carried through to immeasurably enrich my life.

Karen,
Your father was a great man with a heart of gold. I have no doubt that he has taken his brand of altruism to the Heavens; and with Helen at his side once again, will yell down through the ages to stop making a fuss of things. He will be greatly missed, but his work continues above and his love lives on in us here.

Karen,
Your father was an unforgettable character, opinionated but with a heart of GOLD. His family always came first and he adored you. He was such a good parent and loving uncle to me. I will always remember your beautiful mom & dad gliding around the dance floor with all eyes on them. They were truly representative of the greatest generation and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing them both.

Karen
Your father, my dear Uncle Walter was one of a kind. He always was good to me and everyone in my family. My memories are many and my heart is broken knowing that he and your mother are not with us here on earth. No matter what ever happens to me I will always be grateful to your parents for everything they did for me when I was growing up. They were always part of every happy memory I have of my life.
You have been a good and loving daughter to both your parents. I know it was not easy. Know that they loved you, Kelly and everyone in the family.
