Allen Robert Kowtko, 69, of Lavallette, suddenly passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Born and raised in Jersey City, Allen moved to Lavallette, attended Ocean County College and graduated from Monmouth University. He briefly settled in Eatontown, NJ to start a family with Linda and raised Marc and Patrik. Allen worked for the Department of Defense at Fort Monmouth and started a tax preparation business. After 40 years of dedicated service, Allen retired from the Department of Defense in 2012 and continued to build his tax preparation business into a successful practice servicing many clients throughout New Jersey. Allen finally returned to Lavallette and dedicated himself to rebuilding his home that was flood damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
Family-oriented and loyal, Allen devoted his time to family and volunteered for the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. As a Third Degree Knight, Allen was a parishioner at St. Pio’s Church and served as an usher, lector and alter server. A life-long Yankees fan and former little-league coach for the Eatontown Baseball League, Allen had a passion for baseball. He also enjoyed gardening, being on the water and photography.
He is predeceased by his parents, Alexander Kowtko and Sophie Kowtko-Bleach. Allen is survived by his wife Linda and two sons, Marc A. Kowtko of New York, NY, and Patrik A. Kowtko of Eatontown, NJ. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 3 to 7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Highway 35N, Lavallette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 13, 2020 10am at St Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church, 103 Washington Ave, Lavallette, NJ. Committal will be private to the family.
