Angela R. Catalano, known to her friends as Angie passed peacefully in her home in Whiting NJ on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by family. Angela was born October 31, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Monica Natale. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and dedicated friend. Angie moved to Toms River in 1962 the same year she married her husband Joseph A. Catalano.
Angie took tremendous pride in her career as an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, where she had a positive impact on hundreds of young students in five different Toms River elementary schools. Angie loved to travel, visit the theater, watch the Yankees and spend winters in Vero Beach Florida with her husband and friends. She also loved to catch movies and “play cards” with many lifelong friends. Her favorite place to be was wherever her family was, especially her five grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Angela is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Natale and Monica Peda.
Angela is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Catalano; daughter Leslie Dilkes, her husband Donald Dilkes, granddaughter Emily Dilkes and grandson Matthew Dilkes as well as son, Joseph Catalano, his wife Jami, Remi Catalano, Joseph Catalano Jr and Reagan Catalano.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10:45 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, New Jersey.
