Angela Compitello

Angela “Angie” Compitello (nee Portinause), 92, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away peacefully Monday, December 22, 2025 at the age of 92.  She was born on January 9, 1933 to Luise Portinause (Marzucca) & Frank Portinause in Hoboken, NJ.  She married Rocco Compitello on September 15, 1951.  During 69 years of marriage they raised four children Rocco, Diane, Laura and Peter.

Angela was a devoted mother, who worked many years in the food service industry before retiring and moving to Little Egg Harbor.  She enjoyed baking, and cooking delicious Italian meals for her family and friends.

She was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken.  Upon moving to the Mystic Island Area of Little Egg Harbor, she formed a wonderful bond with priests, staff and friends as a parishioner of St. Theresa’s church.  Going to mass was among her favorite joys.  She would also serve within the Republican Club of LEH in support of community improvement initiatives.

Angela was predeceased by her husband Rocco in 2020 and tragically by her youngest son Peter this past August.  She is survived by her son Rocco, two daughters Diane Della Fave and Laura Mutter, a loving brother Alexander (Sonny) Portinause, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, December 29, 2025 10:30am at St. Francis RC Church, 308 Jefferson St., Hoboken, NJ.  Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
