Angela Heagen, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, just one day after celebrating her 92nd birthday.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Ann, as she was known to all, moved with her family to Toms River in the late 1960s, where she spent the remainder of her life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a loyal friend, Ann enjoyed good conversation and togetherness with anyone wanting to “visit”. She was a caring and kind woman who made everyone feel welcome in her home. Once her children became more independent, Ann worked in several roles including as a school aide, bank teller, and lastly as an administrative assistant at JCP&L-GPU, retiring after more than 20 years of service.
Angela was a woman of deep faith and an active parishioner at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and later at St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Richard Heagen. Ann is survived by her four children—Susan Snyder, Judith Ullmann, Richard Heagen Jr., Matthew Heagen, their spouses and significant others, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, their families and too many friends to count. Ann will be missed by all of us.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 Saint Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Family and friends are invited to gather for a repass lunch honoring Angela immediately following the memorial mass. Specific location will be provided at the mass.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ.
