ANGELA MARIE GREZZO (nee Tierno) passed away peacefully January 11, 2024 at the age of 97 while being cared for at Holy Family Manor.
She was born May 14, 1926 to Peter & Francesca Tierno. Angela was raised in Brooklyn, NY with her sister Mary and her brother Innocenzo who predeceased her. She married Louis on July 5, 1947 and eventually moved to Staten Island, NY to raise her children. From there she and Louis moved to Toms River, NJ to enjoy retirement. After Louis’ death, Bethlehem, PA became her final home.
To her friends she was known as “Julie” and she will tell you she lived a full life, working in New York and meeting all kinds of people, and the experiences that living in a large city brings. She told stories of all of her life adventures, remembering from back when she lived in Brooklyn in a brownstone with her parents who were Italian immigrants. She told how she would have to translate for them and when it was cold how her father would put a warm brick in her bed to keep her warm. She was a caring, kind and generous woman who was always there to step in and help with anything. Her family meant everything to her and with that, her love for all of them was immeasurable.
Angela was predeceased by her husband Louis and her daughter Mary Lou. Angela is survived by her son Joseph (Carol), her son-in-law Michael Giannetto (Mary Lou), her grandchildren, Michael (Debbie), Willliam (Elizabeth), Nicole (Tyler), Michael (Lisa) & Laura, and her great-grandchildren, Emilia, Emma & Chase.
Visitation is being held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:30AM at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08757. Family members will then travel to her final resting place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery where she will join Louis in eternal life.
