Annette Fodor Obituary

Annette Marie Fodor danced her way into the hearts of relatives and friends for 94 years. She passed peacefully at her home with her family on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was a devoted mother, an overjoyed grandmother, and a doting great-grandmother.

Annette was born in Jersey City on January 25, 1930, to the late Angelo and Luisa DeFusco. The family moved to Staten Island, NY, and tended a small farm where they grew vegetables, raised chickens and tended goats. After her father’s passing, Annette’s mother divided the farm, giving a plot to each of her three children. In 1950, when Annette married John Fodor, the couple built a house on this property and started their own family. In 1969, they moved to Colts Neck, NJ

Annette and John's love for ballroom dancing was a testament to their vibrant spirits, and their presence was felt throughout the NY/NJ ballroom circuit. They were also known for their warm hospitality, often hosting dinners, BBQs, and games at their home on Glenwood Road. Annette's lasagna was legendary.

After her husband's passing in 1998, Annette moved to Manchester in 2003, where she continued to live life to the fullest. Her love for dancing remained undiminished, and she showcased her skills at her 90th surprise birthday celebration. She also found joy in cruising with her daughter Jeanine and son-in-law Joe. For the last two years, she was a proud and enthusiastic fan of her son’s band, The Jeff Fodor Band, attending their concerts throughout south Jersey.

Annette is predeceased by her parents, Angelo DeFusco and Luisa Salzillo; husband, John Fodor;  brothers, Michael DeFusco, Pat DeFusco, and sister, Helen Nagy.

Annette is survived by her children, son, John Fodor and Lois Ann Catala; daughter, Jeanine Lockhart and her husband Joe; son Jeff Fodor and his wife Jennifer; sister, Penny Cornell; 3 grandchildren, Joseph, James and Jesse Lockhart and 4 great-grandchildren, Ella and Benjamin Jedlowski, and Jaxson and Gabriel Lockhart.

The family will receive friends and relatives at 10am, Monday, April 15, 2024, at Union Church of Lavallette, with Burial to follow at William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.
