Annie Conneely, 88, of Holiday City at Berkeley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Born in Galway, Ireland, Annie moved to Nottingham, England, as a teenager before immigrating to the United States in 1957. She later lived in Brooklyn, NY, before ultimately retiring to Toms River, NJ, in the early 1990s. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church.
Anne was a dedicated employee of New York Telephone for several decades, where, from the 1960s through the 1990s, she rose to a senior management level in the information services division.
She enjoyed attending bingo and was an avid knitter, creating handmade pieces for family and friends. Above all, she was known for being extremely caring and devoted to her family, especially her great-nieces and great-nephews, who held a very special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret McGrath, and her niece, Maureen Kennedy.
A loving and devoted aunt, she is survived by her nephew, John McGrath of Tinton Falls, NJ, and her niece, Ann Klucznik of North Carolina. She is also lovingly remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Tara Kennedy (Sarosh), Brian Kennedy, Sean Kennedy (Lauren), Matthew Klucznik (Britta), Lauren Shaftel (Rob), Kristen Bachicha (Andrew), David Klucznik (Holly), and Jessica Murphy (Matthew).
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 17, from 9:30am – 11:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12:00pm at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River.
Burial will take place Saturday, April 18, at 10:30am at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
