Annmarie Criss

Annmarie Criss, 86 of Toms River, passed away from this life peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Annmarie was born March 31, 1938 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Annmarie is predeceased by her parents, James McCormick; Annmarie LaFlamme and brother, Jim McCormick. 

She was resilient, caring and full of life, who touched the lives of all who knew her. Annmarie is survived by her spouse of 65 years Arthur Criss, married in 1959 and raised 4 children, Art (Wanda) Criss; James (Colleen) Criss; daughters, Kathie Criss; Bethann (Rick) Buchy; niece; Kathleen Boreale; sister in law, Grace Mayer; grandchildren, Britnie; Emily; Patrick, Brianna, McKayla and Brooke.

She was a graduate from St. Peter’s High School, New Brunswick, New Jersey. For almost 40 years, she worked for Dr. William O’Grady, Dermatologist, as a medical assistant. 

Annmarie, a beautiful woman with a golden heart. Kept her family close, shared her love and kindness. She loved spending time playing golf in Pinehurst, North Carolina and Heritage Shores, Delaware with all family and friends. She was dedicated to her family and has tremendous pride in her 6 grandchildren in all aspects of their lives and will continue to influence their lives.

To commemorate her life’s journey, the family welcomes friends and relatives for a Memorial Gathering on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass  will be held at 10am, Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to an Alzheimer’s or Leukemia foundation in memory of her mother.
