Anthony S. DeMarsico, 61 of Toms River, passed peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family and close friends. Anthony was born May 19, 1961, in the Bronx, New York to the late Douglas and Carolyn DeMarsico. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a successful restaurant owner/chef. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Anthony dedicated his life to his family and his restaurant. Anthony’s greatest joy was his family and he loved spending time with his wife, his sons, and his grandchildren. He had a larger-than-life personality and he helped anyone in need. His passion was cooking, baking, and leading fine culinary establishments from Rockland County, NY, to Manhattan. His mother, the late Carolyn DeMarsico was his sole inspiration for his love of cooking. In 2014, achieved his dream of opening a restaurant in Seaside Heights, New Jersey with his partners, PJ Turso and Joe Macchiaverna. PJ’s Place was his second family where he served as a mentor and friend to both employees and patrons.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Christine Driscoll DeMarsico; children, Scott Halle and his Fiancee Allison Dertouzos; Anthony DeMarsico and his wife Kristel; Vincent DeMarsico; brothers; Joseph DeMarsico and his wife Gina; Douglas DeMarsico and his wife Kasia; sisters, Catherine DeMarsico, her son Douglas; Lisa DeMarsico; grandchildren; Isabella Bauza, Brandon, Nicholas, Harper, and Scotty Halle
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 3pm to 5pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, New Jersey.
