Anthony "Tony" LiCausi, 89, of Toms River, NJ, formerly of Springfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tony lived a rich and fulfilling life marked by dedication to his family, country, and community.
Tony proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career in the footwear industry, beginning at La Puma Shoe and later rising to the role of Sales Representative for Joyce Shoes at US Shoe Corp. An entrepreneur at heart, Tony also owned a charming shoe boutique in Millburn, NJ. After retiring from US Shoe Corp., he and his wife Theresa settled in Holiday City Carefree in Toms River, where he embraced a vibrant retirement.
A man of strong ties and community spirit, Tony was an active member of the Italian-American Club and the Carefree Men’s Club. His warm personality and generous nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Theresa LiCausi, his grandparents, Frank and Angelina Catanzaro and beloved brother-in-laws. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories; his two devoted daughters, Valerie Zudonyi and husband Michael, and Joy Catallo and husband John; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Michael (Mickey), Nicole, Ryan, and Joseph; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Luke. He also leaves behind his sister, Dorothy Delgazio, brother, Frank LiCausi, sisters-in-law, Julia LoVerde and Louise Salvi, along with many nieces and nephews who loved him.
Tony’s legacy of kindness, service, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of those privileged to have known him.
