Anthony Pontoriero, 38 of Toms River, NJ passed away on Saturday August 17, 2024. He was born and a lifelong resident of Toms River, NJ. He graduated from Toms River East High School, Toms River, NJ Anthony was a member of the 1996 Toms River Jr. Raider National Champion Pop Warner football team, coached by his father Jack Pontoriero. He achieved NJ state place winner medals as a youth wrestler. He wrestled 4 years varsity on numerous state ranked teams of Toms River East High School and was the 2004 District 24 Champion at 171 lbs. He went on to wrestle NCAA Division 1 for Wagner College with is brother Fred Pontoriero. He attended several colleges before graduating Thomas Edison State College in 2013. Anthony soon after, embarked on a relentless mission to achieve his CFA, the most prestigious and respected certification , passing it the first time he took the exams.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River, NJ.
Anthony worked as a Managing Director and Senior Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors, Anthony was a trusted advisor and friend to his many clients who relied on him for his expert financial guidance. Anthony’s dedication to his clients and his profession are memorialized not only by the success he achieved and the tremendous results he created for his clients, but also his ability to earn 3 of the most respected professional designations in the financial industry: The Certified Financial Planner (CFP); Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA); and Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC).
He impacted not only his client’s lives, who are extremely grateful to have known him, but also those of his many trusted colleagues at Wells Fargo and Santander that understood his unique talent and relied on his ability to develop successful solutions for their customers. These colleagues always respected his tremendous work ethic, since he was always in the office before hours and spent many evenings helping his trusted clients. He was beloved by every colleague he worked with, and they all had tremendous respect for his knowledge, expertise, and his unmatched desire to help others. He would never hesitate to schedule an after hours meeting with a client or spend his own time helping another colleague.
Anthony was very well liked by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Brittney (Angelos) Pontoriero, his daughter Viviana Pontoriero, his parents; Jack and Deborah Pontoriero, his brothers; Jack Pontoriero, Fred Pontoriero, Nico Liguori, and his sister Debbie Huss and his nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends for a Memorial Gathering on Saturday September 7, 2024, from 3pm to 7pm with a 4pm Service at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. 08755.
