Arlene L. Blaumeiser

Arlene L. Blaumeiser, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the age of 85.  She was a resident of The Havens in Toms River, NJ, formerly of Linden.

Arlene was born in Linden, NJ to the late Edith and Carl Blaumeiser.  She is survived by a sister, a niece and family, a nephew and family, and several cousins and extended family in Germany.

Arlene grew up in Linden and graduated high school there.  After attending Clara Mass Nursing College, Arlene attained her degree in Nursing.  Nursing for Arlene was diversified, including group therapy, mental health and visiting nurse duties.  She then went on to join the United States Air Force as a nurse working in the mental health areas.  Arlene then pursued a Master’s Degree in Nursing ad a 6 year level in Medical Education.

Arlene also served for 5 years in the New Jersey Air National Guard, as a flight nurse.

Arlene served in the Army Reserves for 22 years.  During this time, she traveled extensively.  This became a great joy in her life.  Arlene loved to learn, meet people, and experience life.  She especially loved the ocean and all its beauty.  Scuba diving was her passion. 

While Arlene served in the military reserves, she became a high school teacher in Clark, NJ.  This career lasted 25 years.  While she found it challenging in the beginning, she soon came to love the job.  Upon retirement from teaching, Arlene traveled as much as her health would allow.

Arlene was very civic minded and was involved in her early years in the DOA.  In her later years, Arlene joined an AARP organization and the League of Women Voters, where she served as President.

Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers or cards, please donate to an animal shelter or organization of your choice.
