Arnold Schel, 84, of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.

Born in Amsterdam, he lived in Toms River, NJ then South Carolina before moving to Berkeley Twp. 6 months ago.

Arnold retired as Vice President of Zim Israeli Shipping Co. in New York City.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Arnold is survived by his wife of 49 years Peggy (nee Hayden), his five children Colleen McCarten (James) of Manahawkin, NJ, Patricia Pino (Carlos) of Old Bridge, NJ, Mary Ann Schel of Toms River, Kenneth Schel (Rachel) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jennifer Schel (Paul Perdon) of Stroudsburg, PA, six grandchildren Daniel, Alyssa, Riley, Kelley, Dillon, Madison and four great grandchildren Brielle, Blake, Bailey and Brady.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025 2:00pm – 5:00pm with a funeral service to be offered at 4:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
