Barbara A. Erb

Barbara A. Erb, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 26, 2026 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents William and Josephine Barbera, her husband Albert Erb and her son-in law Robert J. Coble.

She is survived by sons Douglas Erb and his wife Theresa of Toms River, NJ; Dennis Erb and his wife Jill of Harleysville, PA.; Russell Erb and his wife Donna of Tucson, AZ.; daughter Patricia Coble of Santa Rosa Beach, FL.; sister Carol Englund of Whiting, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Barbara was born in Bronx, NY, moving to Dumont, NJ where she lived throughout her childhood. She graduated from Dumont High School and attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC. She worked as an executive secretary for CBS.

Barbara married her HS sweetheart Albert Erb and raised 4 children in New Milford, NJ and Harrington Park, NJ. Barbara and Al headed overseas to live in Teheran, Iran and Saudi Arabia due to Albert’s career. Upon retirement Barbara and Al lived on the bayfront in Ortley Beach, NJ and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She spent her last 5 years at Crestwood Manor in Whiting, NJ

Barbara was passionate about travel, reading, Rummikub and a good glass of wine.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 29, 2026 3:00pm – 5:00pm and Monday, March 30, 2026 10:00am – 11:00am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park, NJ.  Burial to take place Monday, March 30, 2026 1:00pm at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
