Catherine Urig Obituary

Catherine T. Urig (nee Dickenson), 84, of Howell, NJ, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Born in Manhattan, NY, she lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Howell 56 years ago.

Catherine was an avid fan of NASCAR and the New York Yankees.  She was also a gifted crafter but, most of all, her biggest joy was her family.

She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” Urig in 2016, her son Eugene in 1963 and her brother Thomas F. Dickenson.

Catherine is survived by her five children Jacklyn Storey and her husband John of Howell, NJ, John Urig and his wife Denise of Neptune City, NJ, James Anthony Urig of Jackson, NJ, Joan Elizabeth Matteo and her husband Richard of Jackson, NJ, and Jayson Gordon Urig and his wife Jaime of Cream Ridge, NJ, thirteen grandchildren John William, Andrew, Leighann, Timothy (Rebecca), Nicholas, Nicole, Noel, Kristina, Ava, Jack Michael, Connor, Ethan, Emma and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 4:00pm – 8:00pm and Friday June 27, 2025 9:00am until the funeral service at 10:00am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals DeBow Chapel, 150 West Veterans Hwy , Jackson, NJ.  Burial to follow the service at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
