Charles J. Hayes, Jr., 64 of Bayville, NJ passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026.
He was born on June 12, 1962, in Hoboken, NJ, moving to Toms River before living in Bayville.
Charles went to St. Joseph’s grade school and high school in Toms River and attended Marist College and Ocean County Community College.
Charles worked in the Maintenance Department with Toms River School District since 1985.
Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His happiest moments were the times spent with his daughters and grandchildren. He also enjoyed cooking, writing, attending concerts and researching his Irish heritage of which he was deeply proud.
He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend and he will be forever missed by us all.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles J. Hayes, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Ann (Morrisroe) Hayes of Toms River, his daughters; Jaimee Sutton and her husband Jay of Point Pleasant, Jessica Hayes of Point Pleasant, his brothers; Thomas and wife Robyn of Toms River, Michael and wife Nancy of Brick, his sister; Nancy Hayes of Toms River, his four grandchildren; Knox, Cody, Walker, and Annie. Nephews; Patrick Hayes and wife Kelly and their children Oliver and Reece, of Brick, Ryan Hayes of Brick, his uncles; Robert Hayes and wife Lenora of Toms River, Thomas Morrisroe of Hackensack, and his aunt; Margaret Strehle of Hoboken and many loving cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River, NJ 10:00am on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
