It is with deep sorrow that the family of Christopher A. Archer announces his passing at the age of 74 on February 11, 2025 after his battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
Chris was born in Long Branch, New Jersey and lived primarily in Hazlet. He attended Raritan High School and went on to work in various technology companies fixing equipment, writing code and providing customer support for companies like Bell Telephone, Interdata, Perkin-Elmer and Vonage. Chris also worked for a short time at Toys R Us in Hazlet.
Chris was a quiet individual but once you got to know him you would enjoy many interesting and intelligent conversations. Chris enjoyed all things Disney, Comic-Con, SciFi and technology. He loved to travel with his family to various events and themed parks. He loved reading, learning about new technology and building his own computers. Chris loved his cats. While Molly (Molecule) will miss him, Boots is with him in Heaven.
Chris is survived by his brother Joseph Archer, and sisters Kathleen Moravek and Pegeen Ford; and sister-in-law Elizabeth Dorsey Archer. Chris was a devoted uncle to Nicole, Colleen, April, Marie and June. He will be missed by his Aunt Anne O’Neill and his many cousins near and far. He will be deeply missed at brother’s nights, weekly Svengoolie fests and family Skype calls.
Sadly, he was predeceased by many loved ones including his mother Alice M. Archer, grandparents Frank & Marie O’Neill, sister Erin Gaffney, brothers Kevin Archer and James Archer, nephew Kevin J. Archer, brother in-law Leonard Moravek and many more.
Chris is going to be cremated and a future date will be set for a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers consider donating to the organization below or plant a tree.
