Colin Chadderton, 84 of Berkeley Township, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Colin was born February 5, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Arthur and Helen Chadderton.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Uncle, and friend. He was known as a great storyteller with a fantastic sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family – the larger the crowd the better, researching and planning trips (“square rooting”), camping and traveling. He was an avid reader (a true Civil War Buff), a pretty decent golfer, and an amateur cook. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Colin is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Helen Chadderton; son, Colin Chadderton; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Peggy Chadderton; nephews, Arthur and Kevin Chadderton.
Colin is survived by his wife and best friend, Catherine Gallagher Chadderton; daughter, Monica Chadderton; brother, John Chadderton and his wife Joan; grandchildren Colin Chadderton, his wife Nicole, Gavin Cafiero, and Ian Cafiero; and great-granddaughter Cate Chadderton.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2pm to 6pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. Committal Services will be handled privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Colin’s memory.
