Constance Hollo Obituary

Constance Hollo, 94, of Manchester passed on from this life peacefully on Tuesday October 30, 2024. Connie was born April 10, 1930 in South Amboy, NJ to the late Joseph and Mary Witzak. She previously resided in Avenel and Hopelawn prior to moving to Leisure Village West, Manchester NJ in 1993. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandma and great grandmother (aka Gran Gran). Mom had many jobs throughout her life, but the one that she was the proudest of was her job at Siemens Corp. in Iselin. She began as the cook in the corporate cafeteria and before she knew it was promoted to Manager, she retired from Siemens in 1992. Mom was a woman of great faith, when she resided in Avenel she was a parishioner of St. Andrew’s RC Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Upon moving to Manchester she became a parishioner of St John’s RC Church. Mom’s faith was strong and at one point when she was younger she thought about becoming a Nun. But instead she met her future husband Joe on a blind date in November of 1947. They fell in love and got married on August 6, 1950, and the rest is history. When Mom and Dad retired they moved to Leisure Village West where they made everlasting friendships and enjoyed retired life. They participated in many activities with their friends, but mom’s favorite was the cruise with friends to the Caribbean. Mom was active in many LVW Clubs but was most active in the Ping Pong Club, where she was Vice President for many years. Mom loved to play Ping Pong and won several single and double tournaments. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word searches, playing Mahjong, and watching T.V. especially Judge Judy, Game shows, the Mets, and Rutgers basketball. Most of all she loved being with her family even if it was just hanging out, playing catch with her great grandsons or watching them walk around with her walkers. This past June, she got to spend time with her oldest grandson Jon and treasured his visit from Arizona. Mom endured a lot through her life and each life event made her stronger. Mom always said she was truly blessed. My sister and I will miss her dearly and were proud to call her mom.

Connie wants you to remember “LIFE IS TOO SHORT, EAT THE CAKE FIRST”!

Connie is predeceased by her husband Joe Hollo; her sons Joseph & Michael; her parents Joseph and Mary Witzak; and her sister Dorothy Lada. Connie is survived by her two daughters Linda Vetter(Lou) of AZ; MaryBeth Kimberlin(Kevin) of NJ; Her 4 grandchildren Jon, Kayleigh(Andrew), Michelle, and Kristopher, 6 great grandchildren Gia ,Stasia, Andrew, Kaden, Michael, &.
