Daniel T. Higgins

Daniel T. Higgins, 77, of Beachwood, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. He was born in Passaic, NJ, and lived in Oakland and Brick before moving to Beachwood. Daniel was a faithful Delivery Driver for Pepsi Cola for many years. Daniel was a 48-year friend of Bill W.

Daniel proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America with the NJ Shore Area Chapter 12, where he served on the Board of Directors for several years and was the Co-Chair of the Chapter’s Cremains Committee. In addition, he was the 1st Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans of America State Council and a New Jersey Delegate at their National Convention. Daniel was a recipient of The Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award as well as the VVA Chapter 12’s Pointman of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

Daniel is preceded in death by his wife, Christine A. (Coaches) Higgins, in 2021. Surviving are his brothers: Albert of Virginia, John of Florida and Patrick of Las Vegas. Also surviving are his loving nieces and nephews: Amber Fegan and Tyler (Albert), Scott, Steven and Vincent (John) and Keilee, Noah and Malia (Patrick).

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow to Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
