David Keith Watson, 62, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born in Jersey City and lived there with his parents until they moved to Jackson, NJ. In 1971, he moved to the Keystone Residence, a school for individuals with Down Syndrome in Gouldsboro, PA, where he lived for many years before moving to a series of group homes in Ocean County.
David is preceded in death by his father, D. Douglas Watson.
He will be forever missed by his mother Vita Marie Watson, his brother James Watson and his wife Susan, his sister Lisa Gertner and her husband Ross, as well as his niece and nephews; Samantha Gertner, Kyle Gertner, Seamus Watson, and John Watson as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30 am at St Mary of the Lake RC Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ. Committal will be private. All arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that stuffed animals be donated in their original packaging to Community Medical Center in David’s name or monetary donations to the Community Memorial Foundation at rwjbh.org/community-medical-center.
