Dennis M. Brown

Dennis M. Brown,76, passed away at UPENN Hospital on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 with family by his side.  His passing has left a void in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.

Dennis "Den" is a life long resident of New Jersey born June 4, 1948 in Jersey City, he grew up in Union Beach & settled in Toms River 39 years ago.  A graduate of Monmouth University, he began his career working for Duncan Thecker Associates before starting his own business over 30 years ago - Mocean Hollow Metal Doors & Hardware located in Lakewood, NJ.

Dennis was a loving husband, devoted father, trusted brother and faithful friend.  He was a simple man who had a passion for golf from an early age & took every opportunity to be on the golf course.  His greatest joy was spending time with family & friends, sitting out in the yard with his dog & talking to all the passersby.  Den had a rare gift of making others smile leaving a lasting impact on everyone he crossed paths with.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, compassion & generosity to all that knew him.  He will be dearly missed.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents Neil & Helen (Marcasiano) Brown and a brother Timothy Brown.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 41 years Susan (Lockwood) Brown; a daughter Celeste Colton & her husband Joseph; a son Curt DeFillippo & his wife Jessica; 3 grandchildren - Joseph, Taylor & Madison; 3 brothers - Neil & his wife Barbara, Joseph & Peter; a sister Kathleen McGee & Royce; and many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive relatives & friends at a Memorial Service on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1 - 5 PM with a service to begin at  4 PM at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
