Dennis Joseph Enright, 76, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
A lifelong resident of Jersey City, he was raised in St. Paul of the Cross Parish and is a graduate of St. Peter’s Preparatory School during which time he was a regular at the St. Paul’s Courts, once participating in 24 hour hoops marathon at Pershing Field, or so the legend goes.
He would later receive his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City and a Master’s Degree in Planning from New York University.
Dennis was founder of Enright & Co., and later NW Financial Group, a municipal finance and underwriting firm which held locations in New York City, Jersey City and Hoboken over the past 32 years. Under his leadership the firm received recognition from the Bond Buyer and was awarded their Municipal Deal of Year in 1993 and 1998, and the North East Deal of the Year in 2003 and 2007. Over the years the firm often ranked among the best performing small muni-advisors and bond underwriters in the north east. In the early to mid-1970s, during the Jordan administration, he served as Planning Director for the City of Jersey City.
An avid golfer, skier, and occasional fly fisherman, Dennis enjoyed sharing wine, cooking, and traveling with close family and friends. For the last 15 years, he had summered in the Seacrest Beach section of Toms River.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Sara Enright.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (nee Gaul), his two children Jeffrey Enright of Hoboken, NJ and Kelly Enright, and his treasured grandson Nicolas of St. Augustine, FL, and two sisters Caroline Scott of Ocean Twp. and Linda Enright of Point Pleasant, NJ,
A wake will be held on Monday October 7th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ. Family is invited attend between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
