Diane B. Gaito

Diane Barbara Gaito, 76, of Ortley Beach, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021, in the presence of her loving family.  Diane was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and spent her childhood years in Clark, NJ.  She settled in Fanwood for much of her adult life, before moving to Ortley Beach 16 years ago.  Her work career began as a secretary at Bell Laboratories, and she worked as a professional travel agent at Key Travel in Scotch Plains for many years.  Diane was also a proud housewife, raising her family in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood area.  She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, and most currently at St. Catharine of Sienna Church of St. Junipero Serra Parish in Seaside Park.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia Reale.  Diane is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Carmen Gaito, and three sons; Carmen and his wife Jeanne Gaito of Santa Monica, CA, Scott and his wife Jessica Gaito of Chicago, IL, and Glen and his wife Michelle Gaito of Howell, NJ; her brother Joseph Reale, and three granddaughters; Faith, Chloe, and Taylor Gaito. 

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Highway 35N, Lavallette, NJ.  A funeral service will be offered at 4pm at the funeral home.
