Diane C. (Densmore) Harz

Diane C. Harz (nee Densmore), 62, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, May 13, 2025, with her husband and daughters by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Milton, FL, she settled in Toms River, NJ, where she built a life and remained for many years.

Diane received her Bachelor’s Degree from Monmouth University and her Certification in Library Studies from Rutgers University.

She was a Media Specialist at Toms River High School East, retiring after 20 years of service.

Diane was a parishioner of St. Justin the Martyr RC Church, Toms River.

She was predeceased by her parents, Wayne and Marilyn Densmore.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, John Harz, her high school sweetheart. The two first met while working together at Friendly’s, went on to attend college together, and married shortly after graduation. They shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to Andrea Maturo and her husband Jim of Toms River, NJ, and to Kristen Parisi and her husband Mike of Charlotte, NC. Her daughters were the pride and joy of her life, and she took great comfort in the love and bond they shared. She was also a proud and adoring Mama to her granddaughter, Ava Maturo, who brought light and laughter into her days.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Cindy Lelievre and husband Joe, and Karen Pobol and husband Gene; her brother, Lee Densmore; and her sisters, Kathi Kinne and Sharon Densmore. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 16, 2025 3:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 10:00am at St. Justin the Martyr RC Church, Toms River.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
