Dominic Acque, Sr.

Dominic Acque, Sr., 79, of Ortley Beach, NJ died peacefully Thursday, September 4, 2025 with his family by his side.  Born in Elizabeth and raised in Union, NJ where he remained raising his family before moving to Ortley Beach 20 years ago.

He was a Sgt. in the Air Force where he honorably served in Vietnam from 1967-1968.   After his discharge, he received his airframe and powerplant certification at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Dayton Beach, Florida where become a Certified Helicopter Mechanic.  He was a firefighter in Union, NJ for 25 years, a lifetime member of the Union Elks, a member of the American Legion Post 129 in Toms River and the Moose Lodge in Ortley Beach. He was active in all his children's activities and sports: Little League Coach, Union Wrestling booster club, Boy Scout Troop 85 (Holy Spirit Church) and St. Michael's CYO.

He loved spending time with his family at the beach and his winters in Florida.

Dominic is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Frances(Renna) and his sister Marianne. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Camille (Valvano), three sons and their wives, Dominic, Jr., Suzanne; Michael, Kelly; Frank, Sherry and his eight grandchildren who he adored: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Daniella, Samantha, Sophia, Avery, Amelia and Michael, Jr.

Family and friends are in invited to attend the viewing on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Avenue, Lavallette, NJ. The funeral mass will be offered on September 11, 2025 at 10:00am at Padre Pio Roman Catholic Church in Lavallette. Committal will be private.
