Donald W. Burnett

Donald W. Burnett, 86 of Bayville, passed from this life peacefully surrounded by his family. Donald was born August 25, 1937 in Roselle Park, New Jersey to the late James and Lois Burnett. He was a loving husband, and a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1955 in Elizabeth where he was a distinguished member of the track and field team. He was a mason by trade, and a previous Worshipful Master of Solomon Lodge No. 46 (1981). He was a man who always helped anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Donald is predeceased by his parents, James Hoffman Burnett; Lois Johnson Burnett; wife, Carol Burnett; brother, James Burnett and step-father, Matthew Piazza.

Donald is survived by his sons, James Burnett and his wife Donna of Bridgewater, New Jersey; William Burnett and his wife Karyn of Beachwood, New Jersey; Robert Burnett and his wife Susan of Saratoga Springs, New York; Matthew Mayes and his wife Debbie of Dublin, Pennsylvania; daughters, Donna Oliva Burnett of Pelham, Alabama; Robyn Salvo and her husband Todd of Ocean Gate, New Jersey; Partner, Joan Cluff Stephens of Ocean Gate, New Jersey; Brother, David Burnett and his wife Barbara of Sanibel, Florida; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he greatly loved.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O’Connell Chapel, 706 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, New Jersey. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Faith Community Methodist Church, Bayville, New Jersey. Committal Services will be held privately.
