Donald A. Dziedziak, 88 of Toms River, NJ, died on October 30, 2024 peacefully and in the company of his beloved family. Donald was born in South River, NJ and made that his home for much of his life before moving to Toms River for his final years. In his youth he was a football star playing offensive and defensive line for South River High School and at the University of Richmond. He honorably served his country in the military and found his calling as an educator at Spotswood High School where he taught math until his retirement in 1994. Donald was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, trapping, archery, foraging for mushrooms and kept a special place in his heart for fishing and the art of fly tying. Whether he was catching shad on the Delaware River, salmon from his boat in Lake Ontario, fluke in Absecon Bay, or stripers and bluefish at Island Beach State Park, he loved being in nature and sharing his boundless angling knowledge with his family and friends. He loved cheering on the NY Giants and NY Yankees, games of chance in Atlantic City, supporting favorite charities, his Polish-American heritage, the family dogs and watching deer visit his back yard.
Donald was predeceased by his parents Anna and George and his beloved wife Dorothy Dziedziak. He is survived by his stepdaughters Darlene Nason and her husband John Nason; Brenda Kahley, her husband Jason Kahley, and their children Kory, Kasey and Kara; Cheryl Boknoski and her daughter Leanna; and Kim Boknoski and her husband Jeffrey Peters.
He will be laid to rest with Dorothy and his parents in a private family ceremony celebrating his life.
