Donald J. Finnerty

Donald J. Finnerty, 90 of Highlands, formerly of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Donald was born September 11, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served his country Honorably, serving in the United States Army and after his discharge, enjoying a successful career with Con Edison. Donald spent his entire life dedicated to taking care of his family. He loved spending time with his family and brought them on many wonderful vacations. He had a great sense of humor and always made family and friends laugh. He taught his family how to be kind to people and was loved by all.

Donald is predeceased by his parents, John Finnerty and Esther Hass Finnerty, his wife Raphale Imbriale Finnerty, his brother John Finnerty and sister Jacqueline Huff Finnerty.

Donald is survived by his 3 sons and 2 daughters: Donald J. and Corinne Finnerty of Madison, NJ, Patricia Finnerty of Newburgh, NY, John and Kim Finnerty of Long Branch, NJ, Margaret and Anthony Pacitto of Highlands, NJ and Daniel and Karen Finnerty of Flemington, NJ. Donald is survived by his nine grandchildren, Anthony, Daniel, Rosemarie, Sarah, Brianna, Matthew, Jared, Carissa and Dillon, and his great grandchildren, Connor, Aria, Madison, and Brooke. He is also survived by his brother Thomas.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ 08755. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church of Toms River with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
