Doris M. McCluskey

Doris M. McCluskey, 97, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she lived in Holland Township, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1967. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. McCluskey, Jr., her parents Robert and Hilda (Meissner) Brogelmann, as well as her sister Nadine Henry. Doris will be forever missed by her family; son Thomas J. III and his wife Anne McCluskey of Rio Rancho, NM, son Robert W. and his wife Patricia McCluskey of West Chester, PA, daughter Christine and her husband Michael Chanda of Forked River, NJ, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  Doris graduated from The New Jersey College for Women in 1945, which later became Douglass College, with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.  She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Caregivers of Ocean County.  Doris was an active member in Girl Scouts and most recently was a member of the Order of the Evergreen.  She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Beachwood NJ for over 50 years.   All arrangements are private and entrusted to the care of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ.
