Dorothy “Dotty” Williams (Dessewffy) of the Holiday City South section of Berkeley Township died on Thursday March 5, 2026. Born in Elizabeth, NJ she lived in Kenilworth, NJ where she raised her children and remained close to her late parents Joseph and Frances Fuerst before coming to Holiday City.
Dotty was the Leader and Singer for her band Movin’ On playing throughout New Jersey and New York while also organizing and performing at many local Jamborees.
Dotty was very Patriotic and loved the Red,White and Blue. Dotty was very passionate about Family, her Catholic faith, Elvis, and singing, especially Karaoke whenever and wherever she was able to. Singing truly brought Dotty happiness.
Dotty made friends everywhere she went and was loved by all. She enjoyed celebrating all holidays and was known to buy small meaningful gifts or trinkets all the time for everyone from family and friends to the local waitresses, cooks, priests, doctors, and many more, she simply loved bringing joy to others.
She was a parishioner of St Theresa RC Church in Kenilworth and St Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Berkeley Twsp.
Predeceased by her son Dennis Bowen, grandson Jesse Bowen, brother Richard Dessewffy and sister in law Eileen Dessewffy. She is survived by her loving husband James Mason Williams, a daughter Victoria Oldhafer. Three sons; Daniel, Timothy and wife Sandra, and Kevin Bowen. Two sisters Patty Gallagher and husband Tommy and Kathy Pugia and husband Ken along with six grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Dotty on Thursday March 12, 2026 from 4 to 8pm at the Timothy E Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St Catherine Blvd Toms River, NJ.
