Dr. Agnes Letetia Taylor
Toms River - Dr. Agnes Letetia Taylor, 82, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully in the early morning of June 1 after her 2nd battle with rectal cancer. Agnes was born on 1/16/1940 to James A. And Ann E. in Tarrytown, NY.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from Marymount Manhattan College, Master of Arts at the School of Education from New York University, and her Doctor of Education from Temple University where she was initiated into the Temple Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa.
Agnes worked as a Religious Education Director for the VCorps Chaplain Department of the Army in Texas and Germany. Returned to the states and became a Civilian Staff/Faculty member for the US Chaplain center and school. She was awarded the Commander's award for Civilian Service. Dr. Agnes Taylor was the Director at Fairleigh Dickinson University Monmouth County Graduate Center in Eatontown retiring in 2015 after 25 years service.
Survived by her sister, Patricia and her husband Thomas McGloin and their daughter Nora her husband John and their 3 children; her Sister-N-Law Sally and her daughter Sarah and her sons, James, Andrew and William; her brother, Thomas Taylor and his wife Dale and their daughter, Rachel and son Kieran and his wife and their daughter; her nephews: Joseph Burris and his wife Michelle and their children, Dan Burris and his wife Mary Catherine and their children; her nephews Theodore Melfi and his wife, Kim, and their daughters and Joseph Melfi and his daughter.
Agnes was devoted to God. She was a huge New York Yankees fan, golf enthusiast, and dabbled as a watercolor artist.
Arrangements are under the direction of Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ . A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name.
