Dr Robert J Waldron
Waldron, Robert of Normandy Beach, NJ, formerly of Upper Montclair, NJ and Stuart, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Dr. Waldron attended Regis High School, Fordham and the State University of NY/Health Science Center of Brooklyn College of Medicine medical school graduating in 1947. He married his beloved Dorothy in 1947 and they spent the next eight years in Boston, Ma. and Norfolk, Va. while Bob served his country in the Navy. They then settled down in Bloomfield, NJ, where Bob began his private pediatric practice. As his practice grew, they moved to Upper Montclair, NJ where he continued to live and practice medicine for over 30 years. He was Head of Pediatrics at his hospital, Mountainside in Glen Ridge, NJ. Despite how hard he worked, seeing over 80 patients a day, he always made time for his family spending time in the summers at Normandy Beach and their horse farm in Allamuchy, NJ. Bob was passionate about golf and was a member of Essex Fells, Manasquan and Indian River Plantation Golf Clubs. He was also a member of The Irish and American Paediatric Society.
He is pre-deceased by his wife, Dorothy M. (Cahill) Waldron, his grandson Craig “CJ” Waldron Jr, his brother Frank Waldron and his sister’s Mary Barry and Ethel Browne.
He is survived by his beloved six children, Robert Waldron Jr and his wife Claudia, Craig Waldron and his wife Kathleen, James Waldron and his wife Pamela, Patrice Dionot and her husband Francois, Susan Coyle and her husband Brian, Dorothea Sample and her husband Curtis, cherished 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, October 1st from 4-6 pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 706 Grand Central Ave. Lavallette, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday October 2 at 10:30 am at St. Pio of Petrelcina in Lavallette, NJ.
