Edward A. Kilpatrick, 77, of South Toms River, New Jersey, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026.
Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Eleanor Kilpatrick, Edward was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He lived in Washington, New Jersey, before moving to South Toms River nearly 15 years ago.
He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War, acting as a deterrent for Cold War–era installations. After his honorable discharge, Edward spent his career working in logistics and transportation throughout New Jersey.
Edward, in all of his complexities and flaws, was constantly striving to become a better parent, partner, and friend.
He is survived by his children: Michael Camp (Alicia) of Crestview, Florida; Edward J. Kilpatrick of Lambertville, New Jersey; Robert Kilpatrick (Paula) of Hamilton, New Jersey; Heather Piro (Robert) of Easton, Pennsylvania; and Joseph Kilpatrick (Caroline) of Washington, New Jersey; and four grandchildren, Megan and James Camp, and Penelope Kilpatrick.
He will be missed by his longtime partner, Connie Carpini, and her family, as well as numerous friends and acquaintances, and his beloved dog, Mischief, all of whom will miss his passionate discussions about his beloved Yankees and politics.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, February 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m., at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
