Edward Harold Mellage, Jr.

Edward Harold Mellage, Jr., 85 of Elizabeth, passed from this life peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023.  Edward was born June 20, 1938 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Edward and Philominea Mellage.  He was a loving husband, devoted father and committed member of the community.  He served his country honorably in the United States Army.  He worked for the Union County Planning Board and was a Utilities Coordinator with Elizabethtown Gas Company.  He was a musician and played the drums.  He was a member of the Roselle Golf Club, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Edward is predeceased by his parents, Edward Mellage, Sr.; Philominea Zennario; wife, Barbara Mellage; brother, Frank Mellage and son in law, Kevin Horton.

Edward is survived by his son, Edward W. Mellage of Forked River,  daughter, Susan Mellage-Horton and  grandson, Steven Horton

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 3pm to 7pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River with a Funeral Service to begin at 6pm.  All Commital Services will be held privately.
