Eleanor M. Hoffmann

Eleanor M. Hoffmann, 89, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully this past Friday, May 23, 2025.

Born in Hoboken, NJ, she lived in East Rutherford, then Rutherford, NJ before moving to Whiting 21 years ago. Eleanor was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Rutherford, NJ, District President for the LWML and leader of the Walther League. She was a member of the Red Cross in Rutherford, volunteering in the activities department in the Lutheran Home in North Jersey. She also was a Girl Scout troop Leader for 15 years and volunteered for the Care's program in South Jersey. Her love of travel brought her across this great country visiting with both family and friends.

Eleanor is survived by her four children Henry “Butch” Hoffmann and his wife Susan of Cold Brook, NY, Glenn Hoffmann and his wife Doreen of Ocean, NJ, Dolores Hoffmann of Whiting, NJ and Linda DiMaulo of Hackettstown, NJ, eight grandchildren Nicole Devine, Adam Petronio, Stephanie Liuzzo, Christopher Hoffmann, Scott Petronio, Justin Hoffmann, Myles DiMaulo, Dominic DiMaulo and four great grandchildren Cameron Petronio, Patrick Devine, Peter Petronio and Colin Devine. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Genevieve Winters.

A funeral service will be offered Saturday, June 7 at 11:00am Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 112 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ. Luncheon to follow at church.
