Eleanor M. (Bongo) Silecchia

Eleanor M. Silecchia (nee Bongo), 94, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Born in Newark, NJ, she lived in Hillside, NJ before moving to Toms River 32 years ago.

Eleanor was a proud cheerleader at East Side High School in Newark, past President of the Hillside PTA, and Administrative Assistant at Bigelow Components in Springfield, NJ for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband Dominick in 2000 and her son Paul in 2024.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Susan Agresta and her husband Stephen of Toms River, two sons Rocco Silecchia and Edward Silecchia, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.            

A private service was held at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, followed by a burial at the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
