Eleanor Walsh, 85 of Berkeley Township, passed away peacefully at her home on March 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her daughter, Denise Walsh, granddaughter, Jodie Lash, and granddaughter's husband, Michael Lash.
Born on May 3, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, Eleanor was the daughter of Thomas Conklin and Eleanor DeRosse Conklin. Eleanor was an active member of the Holiday City South Community, where she found joy in participating in the Women's and Social Club activities, always fostering friendships wherever she went. She treasured the simple yet meaningful moments in life like traveling with her daughter, watching Wheel of Fortune and sharing new books with her granddaughter, and playing Canasta or Rummikub with her friends.
Eleanor lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for family. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas Conklin and Eleanor DeRosse Conklin, her beloved husband, Edward Walsh, her son Douglas Walsh, and her siblings Carolyn Koster, William Conklin, and Thomas Conklin.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Denise Walsh and Edward T. Walsh; her stepchildren, Edward C. Walsh, Michael Walsh, Kenneth Walsh, and Debra Walsh Hickey; her cherished granddaughter, Jodie Lash; and 12 grandchildren through her extended family.
Services to honor Eleanor’s life will be held as follows:
Viewing: Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08755.
Funeral Mass: Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe, 130 St. Maximilian Ln, Toms River, NJ 08757.
Burial: Following the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor’s name may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
Her warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew her.
