Elizabeth Walski (Czapla),84 of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, formerly of Old Bridge, NJ, passed from this life peacefully at her home. Elizabeth was born September 30, 1941 in Schöningen, Germany to the late Julian and Mary Czapla. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and trusted friend.
In 1951, Elizabeth and her family came to America via Ellis Island. The family settled in Bayonne, NJ, where Elizabeth did her education in Mount Carmel Elementary School, then proceeded to graduate from Bayonne High School. In 1960 she became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
In 1964, she married her husband John. They lived in Bayonne for a few years before moving to Old Bridge, NJ in 1970, where they raised their two sons and she went to work at Revlon in Edison for the next 27 years. In 1989, her and her husband moved to Bethlehem, PA.
In 1998 she went to work for Organon when Revlon closed up. Organon was bought up by Schering Plough then by Merck. She stayed with all three companies until she retired in 2008.
In 2000 Elizabeth and her sister took a trip to Poland where they finally met their oldest sister, Francis, and her family for the first time. During WWII, the family was separated and were never able to reunite after the war. After the trip, the family kept in constant contact. In her retirement, she liked to visit family, go to Atlantic City and took a couple more trips back to Poland.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her parents, Julian Czapla and Mary Zuhowski Czapla and two sisters Teresa Rubis and Francis Tuzylak.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, John Walski, sons, John Walski, Jr., and Kevin Walski.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11:00am, Friday, April 17, 2026 with burial to follow at BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
