Emily Brodzinski Mautner passed away on Friday October 4, 2024. Born in Newark to Josephine and Stanley Pulek, Emily was a graduate of West Side High School class of 1946 and married the boy next door, John “Hank” Brodzinski, in 1949. After learning the family business, they opened Stash’s Restaurant of Orange until Hank’s passing in 1978. Emily continued to operate bookstores in both Livingston and Denville, until her loving marriage to Richard Mautner in 1985. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard and her adoring son, John Brodzinski, Jr. She leaves her grandchildren, First Sergeant John Brodzinski, III USAF (husband Paul) , Jessica Flink, great grandson, Tyler, and daughter-in-law Andrea Brodzinski. John and Jessica spent many memorable childhood summers with Emily in Lavallette. Emily leaves numerous cousins and friends who fondly remember her kindness. She was active in the Delbarton Mother’s Guild, Deborah (Seaside Chapter), and Caregivers of Ocean County. She was a faithful parishioner of St Pio’s and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church, Lavallette, New Jersey, Saturday October 12 at 10AM, Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers donations to Deborah (Seaside Chapter) are appreciated.
