Emory “Jim” Snyder, 94, a longtime resident of Toms River, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 with family by his side. Born in Elizabeth NJ to Arthur and Mary (Palmer) Snyder, he moved his family to Toms River. A loving Father, Grandfather and Greatgrandfather.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Carmela “Millie” (DeCarlo).
Jim is survived by his Daughter and “Son” Lori and Tom Juliano of Forked River. His Son and “Daughter” Jim and Mary Snyder of Lanoka Harbor. Grandchildren Michele and Jason England of Barnegat, Michael Snyder of Philadelphia, Jamilyn and Kimberly Snyder of Sicklerville. Great grandchildren Kylie Lynn England, Leanna Faith England , Cutler James Snyder. Many cousins, nieces, nephew and Friends as well as friend and family priest Father Jack.
He had a long and successful career as General Manager for EC Electroplating in Garfield NJ. He enjoyed gardening. His tomato plants were his favorites. He loved listening to his favorite records. Most of all he loved dancing with his wife Millie. They could Jitterbug like no others. He was a kind, loving and generous man. He adored his family. They were is whole life. He taught his family to be strong, courageous, loving, respectful, kind and to always have faith in God.
He enjoyed many vacations with Millie and their friends. Wildwood was one of their favorites.
He never missed an event his grandchildren had. He was their biggest fan.
He was an active member of St. Justin’s RC Church in Toms River. Serving as Past President of their Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Daniel Asare, his loving and caring caregiver for many years as well as Executive Home Care, Complete Care at Green Acres and Serenity Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10:00 at St Justin’s Roman Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd, Toms River. Burial will follow to St Joseph Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St Vincent DePaul Society Toms River in his memory.
