Eugene F. Clause

Eugene Frederick Clause, 91 of Berkeley Township, formerly of Jersey City and Lawrence Harbor, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023.  Gene was born June 22, 1932 in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Clause.  He was a loving husband and devoted father.  He graduated from Matawan High School. Gene married the love of his life, Florence in 1953.  He honorably serviced his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He served his community always, volunteering his time.  He was the member of: Knights of Columbus8603 4th degree, NARFE Chapter 1619, American Legion 129, VFW 10185 Silver Holiday, Allenhurst Beach Club, Holiday City South Election Committee, Holiday City South Code Committee, Holiday City South Bocce Captain, Treasurer of the 400 Club, Holiday City South Shuffleboard President, Holiday City South Bingo Caller, Usher at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church and attended mass daily.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Eugene is predeceased by his parents, Joseph H. Clause, Sr., Elizabeth Daly Clause; wife, Florence Levers Clause; brother, Joseph Clause; sisters, Diana Marie Youncofski and Gertrude Audrey Clause.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Donna Clause and her partner Timothy Moriarty of West Allenhurst and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 8:30am to 9:30am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church with Burial to follow at Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island, New York.
