Evelyn Mae Gerhardt, 90 of Berkeley Township, passed from this life peacefully at her home on Monday, November 18, 2024 with her daughter, Susan, lovingly at her side. Evelyn was born May 30, 1934 in Secaucus, New Jersey to the late Clarence and Pierina Luton. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and trusted friend. She is best described by her family as a trailblazer, a modern woman ahead of her time. Evelyn went back to receive her education after starting a family. She started at the ground floor and went on to run a division with Fisher Brothers Steel in the Purchasing and Sales department. She later in life became a professional Tap Dancer with The Calendar Girls, there was nothing that she could not accomplish. Evelyn bowled for many years on her much loved Cobb’s corner team. All joining as singles, the women became life long friends. At larger family events there was a friendly rivalry between the work friends and the bowling Friends. Evelyn's other hobbies included sewing and reading. She enjoyed crossword and other puzzles. Later in life using her tablet to read many novels and play games. Evelyn is predeceased by her parents, Clarence Luton; Pierina Floriani Luton; brother, Robert Luton and her spouses. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Henry Dubiel Jr. (Cindy) of Conway, South Carolina; Howard Gerhardt Jr. (Patti), of Nashua, New Hampshire; daughter, Susan Bookmyer of Woodstock, Virginia; Stepchildren, Jack Daneri, Susan Eyerman, Eileen Daneri, Mark Daneri; grandchildren, Henry Dubiel III, Eric Dubiel, (Dawn), April Dubiel, Perry Bookmyer, Taylor Gerhardt, Travis Gerhardt; great grandchildren, Sidney Dubiel, Sophia Dubiel. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11am with Entombment to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
