Ezio Bruni, Sr., 88, of Vineland, NJ passed away peacefully Friday December 26, 2025.
Born in Sassoferrato, Marche Italy, he immigrated to America with his newlywed wife Piera, in 1959. Ezio and Piera lived in Pittston PA before moving to Vineland NJ in 1960 where they resided until their recent move to Lavallette NJ to be with family.
Ezio was a passionate gardener utilizing his skills for every season. He was proud to nourish his family with his fresh tomatoes, peppers, basil, parsley, garlic, swiss chard, rosemary, sage, corn, lettuce, celery, fava beans, cucumbers, sweet peas, potatoes, carrots, fennel, persimmons, figs, concord grapes, peaches, cherries and hazelnuts. He made his own wine, sausage, lonza, salami and prosciutto yearly. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing & cooking. His specialty dishes were spaghetti and crab, tomato sauce prepared using his jarred tomatos, polenta and cheesesteaks!
Ezio was a member of the New Jersey Bricklayer's Union for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his son Ezio Bruni, Jr. in 2020 and is survived by his wife of 67 years, Piera Giandiletti, his daughter Diane & husband Paul Herman of Riverside CT, his daughter Brenda and husband Kevin Kolans of Lavallette NJ, precious grandchildren Zachary and wife Mary in Austin TX, Rachel in San Diego CA, Sarah in New York NY, Kyle, Jayden, Lexi of Lavallette NJ and adorable great grandchildren Teddy & Cecilia of Austin Tx. His older sister Maria 'Righetta' & her family reside in Rome, Italy.
A private service is being held on January 2, 2026, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
