Francis "Frank" J. Mara, Sr., M.D.

Francis “Frank” J. Mara, Sr., M.D., of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, Frank was raised in Lyndhurst, NJ and lived in Long Branch, NJ, before moving to Toms River 20 years ago. He established a career as an Anesthesiologist and practiced at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills, as well as Community Medical Center in Toms River. Frank is preceded in death by his parents Frank P. and Carole (Frattarola) Mara. He will be forever missed by his cherished wife of 29 years, Melissa (Dowling) Mara, his five sons; Frank J. Mara, Jr., Joshua A. Mara, Michael H. Mara, Jacob M. Mara, and Zachary D. Mara, as well as his granddaughter Melina Mara. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12pm at St. Catharine of Siena of the Parish of St. Juniperro Serra RC Church, 50 E St., Seaside Park, NJ. Committal will be private.
