Gelsomina (Carannante) Durazzo

Gelsomina Durazzo (née Carannante), 83,  died on Monday, March 30, 2026 at her home.

Born in Monte Di Procida, Italy, she was a longtime resident of Brick, NJ. She was owner of J & G Pizza and a parishioner of Epiphany RC Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing cards, and a Sunday tombola game. She could always be found cooking for her family and cherished her time spent visiting loved ones in Italy. Her most notable role was Nonna to her grandchildren and lovingly earned the title of adopted Nonna to many. Predeceased by her husband Giovanni, she is survived by her son Michael, daughter Amalia Carroll and her husband Rob, and beloved grandchildren Jessica and Robbie. She will be missed by her siblings, her brothers and sisters in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 1 to 5pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd, Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday April 6, 2026 at 10am at Epiphany RC Church in Brick. Family and friends are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Committal will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Relay for Life.
