Gloria “GG” Quiles Tully (September 21, 1947 - March 25, 2025) lived a beautiful, dignified life. A spiritual woman who loved connection and laughter, she generously shared her life with others while asking little in return. She met her former husband, Leo Tully, while attending Fair Lawn High School, and they taught their children, Chris and Matt, how to live a life of integrity, resilience, and service to others. She was a great light for her sister: Lillian loved and admired her, as did her husband Rich, their two sons (Greg and Russ), and their families. Gloria is also survived by her father (Bill), her nieces (Allison, Michelle, and Catherine) and nephews (Charlton and Corbett) - they all loved her very much.
Gloria was born in New York City before her parents, Bill and Gloria Quiles, moved to Fair Lawn, New Jersey. After graduating from Fair Lawn High School, Gloria embarked on a lifelong journey of service to others, providing caring, reliable support in settings ranging from business boardrooms to public school classrooms. Despite her many responsibilities, she never failed to be anything less than an excellent mother, raising her children in Bergenfield, New Jersey, and exposing them to great music, spirituality, social justice, and the practice of assuming the best of intentions from all. Gloria traveled often: Key West, Bahamas, Bermuda, and all throughout the Caribbean. Most beloved was Puerto Rico, where she enjoyed connecting with her Boricua roots.
Gloria loved connecting with her grandchildren (Vincent, Sean, Ava, and Hudson), visits with her daughters-in-law (Sara and Jen) and their families, taking cruises, dancing, meditation, street fairs, cycling, giving Christmas ornaments, Deepak Chopra, Lady Gaga, pasteles with arroz con gandules - especially around the holidays, sitting by the beach, a good movie, The Rock, Spanish omelets with tabasco, virgin bloody marys with extra horseradish, and great concerts including The Four Tops, Tom Jones, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and so many others.
Gloria lived each day with lovingkindness, gratitude, and a lifelong mission to bring about happiness and healing for herself and others. While Gloria has now moved on from the body, her spirit will continue to live on and inspire the many lives she touched.
