Graham James Mills, 82, of Jackson Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Graham was born in Plymouth, England on June 16, 1943, the only child of James and Helen (Cox) Mills. Graham moved to the United States in 1951, living in Freehold before settling in Jackson in 1968.
Graham was a proud American and served his country honorably in the United States Navy, deployed on the USS Carpenter from 1961 to 1965. In 1983, he enlisted in the New Jersey Air National Guard and served as Technical Sergeant of the 108th Wing until retiring from his years of service in 2003. Graham worked for All State Search Company as a Title Examiner for over 30 years until his retirement.
Graham was a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather. Graham loved his family, friends, the NY Yankees and spending time building his Legos. He enjoyed serving his community and helping others. Graham served as the former President of Freehold Jaycees; former Chief and Life Member of Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company; Life Member of Ocean County Fire Police; Volunteer at Jackson Township First Aid and Umpire for Jackson Township Little League. Graham also received various awards and special recognition for his years of exemplary volunteer service at CentraState Medical Center.
Graham will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Graham was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Mills, in 1991.
Graham is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Virginia Meldrum Mills; his two daughters, Kimberly Stockschlader and her husband Joseph of Waretown; Krista Catananzi and her husband Christopher of Browns Mills; his seven grandchildren, Dana Sloan (Nick), Brandon Eursery (Amanda), Julia and Connor Stockschlader; Stephanie, Delaney and Anthony Catananzi; and his great granddaughter, Leah Sloan.

A Memorial Gathering celebrating Graham’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, DeBow Chapel, 150 W. Veterans Hwy., Jackson.
